Caitlin Stasey was born Caitlin Jean Stasey on May 1, 1990, in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. She is the daughter of Sally and David Stasey and has a younger sister named Victoria. Stasey attended Star of the Sea College. At the age of 10, she toured internationally with the Australian Girls Choir and took part in a re-recording of Peter Allen’s song “I Still Call Australia Home” for a Qantas Airways commercial.

Caitlin began her acting career in 2003 when she was cast as Francesca “Frankie” Thomas in “The Sleepover Club.” She appeared in all 26 episodes of the first season and in the premiere of the second season. From 2005 to 2009, she starred as Rachel Kinski in “Neighbours,” leaving the series to concentrate on her VCE examinations. Stasey stated at the time, “I want to know that when I finish my exams and get my score, it is representative of my abilities.” She had a non-credited role in the 2009 film “Spring Breakdown,” and the following year, she took on the lead role of Ellie Linton in the film adaptation of John Marsden’s 1993 novel “Tomorrow, When the War Began,” an effort that earned her an Inside Film Award.
